How to understand and program the electronic head LIVING ECO by DANFOSS?

Installation of the head LIVING ECO

 

To install the head DANFOSS eco guide, you have to :

  • Insert battery
  • Check that you have disposed them in the right position. Once the batteries are installed, the time flashes on the screen.
  • Set the time with the arrows, then click on the central button.
  • Set the minutes with the arrows, then click on the central button. Repeat the same procedure for the date.
  • When the tick flashes on the screen, press the central button to confirm your setting.

 

Before installing the thermostat, a capital M flashes on the screen.

Later, remove the old thermostatic head. Depending on the type of thermostat, you need to turn it, or to use a standard tool.

Before installing the head LIVING ECO, you have to identify the adapter to fit on the valve. DANFOSS suggests various adapters for different types of valve. The adapters furnished in the packaging cover more of 90% of the valves of the brand DANFOSS and of other brands. p>

If none of the adapters is suitable for your valve, it could be due to the age of the valve.
In this case, we suggest to replace it with a new valve. Identify the adapter for your valve thanks to the adapter guide. p>

Once you found the right adapter, fit it on the valve thanks to the key awl given. Screw the thermostat on the valve and clench.

If the screen is off, the ECO thermostat is in sleep mode. Click on the central button to activate it.

The capital M flashes on the screen.

To fasten the thermostat on the valve, hold the central button, push it, for 5 seconds, till the extinction of the screen. You can hear the head fitting on the valve.

Repeat it if you want to install others thermostats ECO.

 

Programming of the head LIVING ECO

 

When you use the thermostat for the first time, it is on saving program P1, that brings the temperature back to 17° every day and night of the week and during the working hours.

You can also choose the long lasting saving program P2 that brings the temperature back to 17° everyday an night of the week and during the working hours. p>

For indication :

  • P0 (Minimum program) = Constant temperature at 21° day and night
  • P1 (intermediate program) = Constant temperature at 21° but including a saving period at 17° every night from 22h30 to 6h in the morning
  • P2 (maximal program) = Constant temperature at 21° including two saving periods at 17° every night from 22h30 to 6h in the morning and from Monday to Friday from 8h to 16h.

You can adapt the program following your needs.

To change the program, click firstly on the central button to activate the screen.

Click now on the central button to open the menu of programs.
Use the arrow keys to pass from a program to the other.
To select the program you need, click on the central button. The arrow buttons allow you to easily set the temperature you desire.

CLuck on the central button and confirm. The new increase or decrease of the temperature lasts until the beginning of the next comfort or lowering period.

Compared to the traditional thermostatic valves, the thermostat ECO offers until 30% of savings and it improves your comfort.

Your new thermostat eco is now installed.

To modify the comfort and lowering temperatures, click on the central button to choose the program.
To modify the program, use the arrows.
Press simultaneously on the two arrows for 2 seconds to enter the function menu.

Thanks to the arrows, enter the program where the temperatures and the periods must be modified and click on the central button. You can then modify both the comfort and lowering periods of the days of the week (from Monday to Friday).

Change the beginning of the first comfort period thanks to the arrows and click on the central button. Change then the end-time thanks to the arrow buttons.
Click now on the central button to confirm your choice.

Repeat the operation to adjust the second comfort period. Then, click on the central button to confirm the comfort period.
Increase or decrease the desired temperatures thanks to the arrows for the comfort or lowering periods.
Click on the central button to confirm.

Adjust then the comfort period during the weekend. The weekends represent only one comfort period or only one lowering period that are automatically set on the same temperature of the rest of the week. Confirm each setting clicking on the flashing symbol.

With the lowering temperatures you can really realize energy savings when you are at work or during the nights. The current program is always visible on the screen.

To increase or decrease the temperature directly on the screen without changing the programming, you can use the arrow buttons.

 

Specific programs: Opened windows, standby, holidays

The thermostatic head eco has the opened windows detection that automatically turns off the thermostat for 30 minutes when a sudden drop of temperature is detected.

If you air the room for more than 30 minutes, you can easily choose the standby mode that turns off the thermostat until the next switching.

If the screen is off, it means that the thermostat is in standby. To activate it, press on the central button. To put the thermostat in standby mode, choose the “frost-protection” program and confirm with the central button.

The thermostat is now in standby mode and you can air the room many times as necessary.
The screen flashes to show that the thermostat is in standby mode.

Deactivate the standby mode clicking a first time on the central button, then a second time.

There is also a holiday program.
The temperature is decreased during the period you are not at home and it will bring the temperature back to the desired level once the period is finished.

To activate the holiday program, press the two arrow buttons for 2 seconds.
With the arrows, enter the holiday program characterized by a suitcase, then click on the central button.

Set the leaving and the return date with the arrows and click on the central button to confirm.
With the arrows, choose the desired lowering temperature and click on the central button.

The symbol starts to flash. Click again on the central button. The symbol of a suitcase appears on the screen.

To cancel the holiday program, come back to the program menu and choose the program you need. (p0, p1 ou p2).

The holiday mode is automatically canceled.
