To replace it, you need :

  • A pliers
  • A pliers crescent wrench
  • A hexagon key
  • A PTFE tape
  • A cup
  • A purge key
  • A wipe

Steps to be followed:

  • First, drain the heating circuit
  • Unscrew slowly the conical bolting between the radiator and the faucet, to let the water run.
  • Unscrew and remove the water faucet and block the coupling with another pliers.
  • Check if the conical bolting is compatible with the new faucet. If everything is ok you don’t have to change the bolting. You may use a hexagon key or a nipple key according to your model
  • Install the new conical bolting. If it is self-sealing, you don’t have to put PTFE tape
  • Remove the old seal on the pipe coupling
  • Put the tape and turn it clockwise
  • Screw the new head manually, then tighten with the pliers. Make sure the fitting is facing the conical bolting.
  • You can install one thermostatic head to realize savings
  • Fill your heating circuit then drain the radiator
