Air inlets and extraction vents maintenance

The air inlet and the extraction vents need a regular maintenance. It is advised to clean the air inlet at least once a year and the extraction vents twice a year.

Some elements need to be cleaned carefully.

Air inlet maintenance

1) Self-regulating units

• Uncouple the air inlet cover. If your air inlet is equipped with an acoustic extension, unscrew it, if you need so.
• Clean the cover and the acoustic extension’s inside with a damp cloth (Don’t wet or immerse the cover or the extension with the foams)
• Do not remove the regulation blade
• If you have an extraction vent without an acoustic extension, clean the base with a sponge.
• Replace the cover.

If the acoustic air inlet foams are damaged, replace them

2) Humidity air inlet

• Uncouple the air inlet cover. If your air inlet is equipped with an acoustic extension, unscrew it, if you need so.
• Clean the cover and the acoustic extension inside with a damp cloth (Don’t wet or immerse the cover or the extension with the foams)
• Do not disassemble the ram air door and the humidity control system.
• If you have an extraction vent without an acoustic extension, clean the base with a sponge.
• Replace the cover

If the acoustic air inlet foams are damaged, replace them

Extraction vents maintenance

1) Self-adjusting extraction vents

• Uncouple the grille and the control module.
• Clean the extraction vent’s body with a damp cloth.
• Wash the grille and the regulation damper with a warm soapy water and rinse them.
• Replace the control module by taking good care of the grille position

2) Humidity extraction vents

BE CAREFUL : If the extraction vents are electrically connected, make sure they are turned off before manipulate them !

Then :

• Uncouple the grille, the grille support and remove the extraction vent’s canal without uncoupling the ram air door.
• Clean the extraction vent’s body with a damp cloth.
• Wash the grille and the regulation damper with a warm soapy water and rinse them.
• Replace the canal by taking care of positioning the axes of the ram air doors.
• Replace the grille + grille support on the extraction vent.
